In February 2025, Team Techverse — Raman Shukla, Saksham Gupta and I — won 1st prize at Changethon 2025, held at the National Social Summit, IIT Roorkee. The theme was education in agriculture; our project was Krishi Gyan, an AI agribot that gives farmers real-time guidance on their queries.
The stack, and why it was boring on purpose
React frontend, Python Flask backend, Gemini Flash API for the AI layer. No exotic architecture — every hour we didn't spend fighting infrastructure was an hour spent on whether a farmer could actually use the thing.
What actually won it
Not the tech stack. The judges cared about one question: does this reach someone who has never used an AI product before? We designed Krishi Gyan's interface around that answer, not around what impressed us as engineers.
We were later honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation from Dr. Virendra Swarup Institute of Computer Studies for the win, presented by Executive Director Arpit Awasthi.
This experience reinforced my belief in the power of technology to create meaningful change — and it's the project we showcased at the AI Mentorship Session I ran at VSICS two months later.
